The Actives Behind the Formula
Two of the formula’s key actives are Vitasource™ and Haematococcus pluvialis Extract.
Vitasource™ is a purified Scutellaria baicalensis root fraction standardized for baicalin.*
Haematococcus pluvialis Extract is a microalgae-derived ingredient naturally rich in astaxanthin.**
Together, these actives help support smoother-looking skin, firmness, and resilience.
*In vitro testing showed extended fibroblast activity. A 56-day in vivo study showed visible improvements in skin microrelief, firmness, and elasticity.
**In vitro testing showed a 97% reduction in IL-6, a marker of inflammatory skin stress.
Application
Apply 1–2 drops to clean skin morning and evening. Gently press onto the face and neck.

We created this formula without essential oils, added fragrance, or benzyl alcohol and selected ingredients with skin comfort in mind.
However, individuals with sensitive skin should always review the ingredient list carefully and perform a patch test before first use.
How do I use it in my routine?
Mist the skin with your preferred Phaedrae Botanical Water, then apply 1–2 drops of the serum morning and evening.
For a more nourishing finish, follow with Phaedrae Botanical Concentrate.
Can I combine it with other Phaedra Botanicals products?
Yes. Phaedrae Gentle Bioferment Serum layers beautifully with our serums, moisturizers, and oils.
Apply it as your water-based treatment step, then follow with your preferred Phaedra Botanicals facial oil or Phaedrae Botanical Concentrate.

Does it replace a moisturizer?
For many, yes. Phaedrae Gentle Bioferment Serum was designed to provide hydration, comfort, and barrier support in a single step. For enhanced nourishment, follow with a facial oil or Phaedrae Botanical Concentrate.
Is it suitable for the eye area?
Yes. Phaedrae Gentle Bioferment Serum may be applied around the eye area and, like all Fresh Series serums, was formulated to be suitable for this delicate part of the face.
Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
