Finding Your Lipid Treatment

We create each lipid treatment to address different skin needs. You do not need them all. This guide helps you understand the differences between our four waterless treatments and discover the formulation that best corresponds to your skin.

From the singular simplicity and lightness of Ex Prūnīs to the richer composition of Eratō's Multipurpose Essence, the mature-skin focus of The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil, and the botanical complexity of PHAEDRAE Botanical Concentrate, each approaches lipid care differently.

Below, we explore the botanical oils, extracts, and actives that distinguish each formulation—and when you might choose one over another.

Our most complex lipid treatment to date brings together 26 carefully selected botanicals in a concentrated, waterless composition. Created without essential oils or added fragrance, it combines slowly macerated flowers with contemporary CO₂ extracts and actives for deeply nourishing botanical care.

Ex Prūnīs Antioxidant Treatment Oil

Our first lipid treatment, Ex Prūnīs Antioxidant Treatment Oil, begins with a distinctive plum oil produced in the region of Agen, France.

Lightweight and readily absorbed, Ex Prūnīs is particularly well suited to skin that prefers a simpler lipid treatment, including sensitive, combination, and oilier skin types.

Plum oil is naturally rich in vitamin E, polyphenols, and essential fatty acids. It nourishes the skin with antioxidant-rich lipids while leaving it soft and supple without a heavy finish.

Derived from Ente plums and tested for 21 external contaminants, this distinctive botanical oil is not limited to a single PHAEDRAE formulation. It also appears in several of our more complex treatments, including those discussed below.

These formulations build on the nourishing properties of botanical lipids with additional oils, butters, extracts, and actives selected for different skin needs.

If you are looking for our lightest and most straightforward lipid treatment, particularly if your skin does not respond well to richer compositions, Ex Prūnīs is a natural place to begin.

If your skin is particularly dry or calls for something more substantial, continue with Eratō Multipurpose Essence.

Eratō's Multipurpose Essence

We created Eratō’s Multipurpose Essence as a richer lipid treatment for dry and dehydrated skin, particularly when regularly exposed to environmental stressors.

Organic mango butter gives Eratō its nourishing character and a natural spectrum of fatty acids and lipid-soluble compounds. Tomato seed oil provides lycopene, while organic CO₂ carrot extract further enriches the carotenoid profile of the essence.

Together with botanical oils and antioxidant-rich extracts, these ingredients make Eratō's Multipurpose Essence substantially richer than Ex Prūnīs, leaving dry skin feeling nourished, supple, and comfortable.

Its enveloping texture makes it particularly suited to colder months, dry climates, or simply to times when your skin asks for more.

If dryness and dehydration are your principal concerns and your skin responds well to richer botanical compositions, Eratō’s Multipurpose Essence may be the more appropriate choice.

For mature skin and a formulation focused more specifically on visible signs of aging, continue with The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil.

The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil

We developed The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil specifically for mature skin.

While Eratō's Multipurpose Essence focuses primarily on richness and nourishment, The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil takes a more targeted botanical approach to visible signs of aging.

At the heart of the formulation is Spilanthes acmella extract. In testing, the Acmella active reduced the appearance of the surface, depth, and volume of crow’s-feet wrinkles after twice-daily application for 28 days.*

Calendula, Moroccan chamomile, magnolia berry, and other carefully selected botanicals further enrich the formulation, combining lipid nourishment with antioxidant-rich extracts for mature skin.

The result is a treatment designed to leave the complexion looking softer, smoother, and more radiant while addressing the appearance of signs of aging.

For mature skin, particularly when visible lines and changes in suppleness and texture become more noticeable, The Golden Age offers a more targeted approach.

It can be used after any of our serums and pairs particularly well with Hana Defies Time Phytotherapy Serum.

*Results based on a 28-day clinical test of the Acmella active conducted on a panel of 28 volunteers with mature skin, involving twice-daily application.

Phaedrae Botanical Concentrate

With 26 carefully selected botanicals, PHAEDRAE Botanical Concentrate is our most complex waterless lipid treatment to date.

The formulation combines traditional botanical preparations with contemporary CO₂ extracts and actives. Slowly macerated prickly pear flower, daisy, and white lily meet sea buckthorn and pomegranate CO₂ extracts, rosehip, Schisandra, Spilanthes acmella, bakuchiol, olive-derived squalane, bisabolol, and a diverse selection of botanical lipids.

As part of our Gentle Collection, Botanical Concentrate contains no essential oils or added fragrance. It offers a concentrated, nourishing botanical treatment for skin that prefers to avoid aromatic compounds without sacrificing richness or formulation complexity.

Botanical Concentrate and The Golden Age share certain botanicals, including Spilanthes acmella, but each takes a different approach to lipid care.

The Golden Age focuses specifically on mature skin and visible signs of aging.

Botanical Concentrate brings together a broader range of botanicals to provide concentrated nourishment while supporting the appearance of softness, suppleness, firmness, and radiance.

Botanical Concentrate also pairs naturally with our Gentle Bioferment Serum. Apply the water-based serum first, then follow with Botanical Concentrate to complete the routine with a nourishing lipid layer.

If you are looking for our most botanically complex lipid treatment, PHAEDRAE Botanical Concentrate may be your best fit. It provides substantial nourishment without essential oils.

Which Lipid Treatment is Right For You?

The differences between our lipid treatments are not simply a progression from less to more. Each formulation was created with a different purpose, and the most complex treatment is not necessarily the one your skin needs.

If you prefer a lightweight, straightforward lipid treatment, begin with Ex Prūnīs Antioxidant Treatment Oil.

If your skin is dry, dehydrated, or asking for greater richness, consider Eratō’s Multipurpose Essence.

If you have mature skin and visible signs of aging are your principal concern, The Golden Age Rejuvenating Oil was developed specifically with these needs in mind.

If you are looking for our most complex waterless botanical treatment, substantial nourishment, and a formulation without essential oils or added fragrance, consider PHAEDRAE Botanical Concentrate.

You do not need them all. The purpose of this collection is not to add another step—or several—to your routine, but to give you distinct formulations from which to choose according to your skin, its present condition, and what it genuinely needs.
