CITRUS LIMON FRUIT EXTRACT (LEMON EXTRACT)

As part of our AHA fruit acid blend, lemon supports collagen production and helps brighten the look of skin. Lemon naturally contains citric acid (an AHA), which supports controlled exfoliation for a smoother-looking texture, plus citrus polyphenols/flavonoids that contribute antioxidant support.

MELISSA OFFICINALIS FLOWER/LEAF/STEM WATER (LEMON BALM WATER)
Cultivated and slowly distilled in Occitanie, France • certified organic
Native to the Mediterranean region, our lemon balm offers remarkable skin benefits. It provides potent antioxidant support and helps protect skin against oxidative stress. It helps cleanse pores, calms irritation, and supports skin affected by common concerns.
Rich in: flavonoids such as quercitrin, rhamnocitrin, and luteolin, and polyphenolic compounds including rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, and protocatechuic acid. These compounds demonstrate antimicrobial activity.

GLYCYRRHIZA URALENSIS ROOT EXTRACT (LICORICE)
Cultivated in Germany • slowly CO2-extracted in Germany
Our licorice CO2 extract offers antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiaging, and regenerative properties. It helps prevent the formation of acne and supports the transdermal delivery of active ingredients.
We obtain it through supercritical CO2 extraction using natural carbon dioxide. This is our only extract where we introduce a small amount of ethanol during extraction. We infuse the extract in caprylic/capric triglycerides.
Rich in: medium-chain triglyceride oil (50%) and polyphenolic compounds. It also contains more than 8.5% isoflavanes, including licoricidin and licorisoflavan A, which prevent UVA-induced photoaging of human dermal fibroblasts.

LYSOLECITHIN

Our cruelty-free, non-GMO, preservative-free, vegan hydrolyzed lecithin (lysolecithin) has one fatty acid replaced by an OH group. Compared with standard lecithin, this structural difference gives it better emulsifying and dispersion performance in aqueous media—such as the organic plant waters in our serums: green tea water in Hana Defies Time Phytotherapy Serum, bitter orange (neroli) flower water in Sapphō’s Brightening Serum, lemon balm water in Transcendent The Lotion, and immortelle flower water in Phaedrae Probiotic Renewal Serum.
We obtain our lysolecithin from non-GMO soy.

SCHIZANDRA SPHENANTHERA FRUIT EXTRACT (MAGNOLIA BERRY/SCHISANDRA)

Magnolia berry, also known as schisandra, offers anti-inflammatory properties and helps protect skin against oxidative cell damage. It soothes the skin and helps combat aging.
We obtain our magnolia berry through supercritical fluid extraction using natural carbon dioxide, without solvents.
Rich in: dibenzo[a,c]cyclooctadiene-type lignans, organic acids, and major lignans (schizandrin, deoxyschizandrin, gomisin A, gomisin N, gamma-schizandrin, wuweizisu C). These decrease acne-related inflammation and UVB-induced photoaging.

MANGIFERA INDICA SEED BUTTER (MANGO)

We cold-press our mango butter fresh for each batch. It locks in moisture deep within the skin, makes skin dewy, reduces the degeneration of skin cells, and restores flexibility. It helps repair the skin’s natural barrier without clogging pores.
Rich in: vitamins A, K, C, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, and carotenoids. Together, they play an essential role in collagen formation and the restoration of healthy skin.

SCLEROCARYA BIRREA SEED OIL (MARULA)
Cultivated in Africa • cold-pressed in Denmark
Wild-harvested African marula fruit from the African savanna tree, Sclerocarya birrea, yields nutritious, protein-rich seeds. Traditionally, communities open the seeds using skilled hand techniques. On the sandy coastal plains of the Ingwavuma district in South Africa, locals crack the nut against a stone slab; in parts of Namibia, they crack the marula nut against an ax blade using a block of hardwood (for example, Terminalia sericea).
Whatever the method, hand extraction requires skill: the shells are tough, and the kernels must remain whole.
Marula is a deeply moisturizing, nourishing oil that prevents transepidermal water loss and increases moisture retention.
