Citric acid is a naturally occurring organic acid found in many fruits and plants. In cosmetics, it is commonly used to help maintain a skin-friendly pH and support overall formula stability.
In our formulas, it is not added as a standalone ingredient. When it appears on our ingredients list, it is carried in through our own botanical distillation process, where naturally occurring acids from the plant material can remain in trace amounts. Because it must be disclosed when present, you may see it referenced in our formulations.
